Articulation between theory and practice from meaningful learning in the nursing field

Introduction: through learning, living beings acquire knowledge about the world around them, because certain brain areas are capable of creating neural networks. Meaningful learning is based on the experiences acquired and previous knowledge considered as the most complete way of learning, therefore, within the area of health it is required to problematize the educational processes in the generation of significant learning. Objective: describe the relationship between nursing care and the importance of continuing education among professionals through meaningful learning. Material and methods: a search was conducted in databases such as EBSCO, PubMed, SciELO, the keywords used were: significant learning, knowledge, nursing, care, where the association of significant learning in relation to nursing care was found. Conclusion: Nursing care and training of professionals are mediated by the construction of knowledge based on previous experiences, that is, what has been learned throughout their academic training, which allows them to execute critical thinking with learning self-directed
