The objective of this study was to describe the written productions of children in the third grade of primary education with a history of perinatal risk. 14 children participated from third grade primary school education in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, with an average old of 8 years 3 months. We applied the Child Neuropsychological Assessment, which analyzed the results of the subtests of writing, narrative coherence, spatial and metalinguistic skills. The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Mexican Children, WISC-IV, was applied to obtain IQ. We analyzed errors in written productions of visual, auditory, syntax, spelling, spatial and repetitions. In the comparison of variables, significant differences were found when comparing metalinguistic abilities with the sex, writing accuracy with spelling errors. A qualitative analysis of the children’s written work described the characteristics of writting and types of errors. Since all the children had perinatal risk factors and errors in writing, we must implement strategies to rectify them.
