Nursing research: A current view

Abstract

Nursing research is an essential tool to improve clinical practice and ensure the safety and satisfaction of people living with both acute and chronic diseases. Like any healthcare professional, it is imperative to stay abreast of the latest research and trends in the field in order to provide quality care based on the best possible evidence.

The generation of quality research also allows nurses and other health professionals to contribute to the development of the profession and improve the health and well-being of the population. It is as important to actively participate in research to generate new knowledge as it is to inform, disclose and disseminate its results. Moreover, these activities favor the development of human resources with sufficient and adequate competencies to perpetuate the cycle.
