The 2019 pandemic drastically changed healthcare across all medical specializations,
including care related to neurological diseases. Its consequences in regards to the nervous
system were steadily investigated. In this sense, Matías and his collaborators pointed out that:
a. the pandemic would significantly increase related specialties, b. the pandemic brought
long-term neurological consequences, c. no significant resources were allocated to neurological
research, and d. there was a change in the way neurology specialists operate.1
